advocacy creativity english language trauma care blogs researchLearners will actively engage in collaborative efforts, pooling their knowledge, skills and talent to curate a comprehensive set of resources. This may involve researching effective outreach methodologies, developing materials, sharing best practices and developing tips to help educators better connect with vulnerable community members.
The emphasis lies on empowering educators serving in high-needs communities, ensuring they receive knowledge on how to better work with youth who have experience trauma or being victimized by extended bullying. T
he goal is to foster an inclusive learning environment that addresses the unique challenges faced by students, including trauma, adapting to new cultures, languages, and mobility issues. Learners become catalysts for positive change by actively contributing to the creation of supportive resources that enhance the educational experience for vulnerable students and their families.
Learners will bring their talent and creativity to help us come up with ways to communicate the impact of trauma on youth and their abilities to self advocate or engage in the learning process. Anything you can help to engage immigrant, refugees and/or those with limited English with educators will be impactful. These may be blogs, research, graphs, short videos, art...we are open. Our aim is to either empower educators on how to better serve their vulnerable students, their families or both.
We are 100% percent volunteers and while we do not have the funds to pay for internships, we will cover resources they need (Canva pro access, Zoom, paid account of grammarly and other resources they ask for) in order to help them succeed. We are available to connect and communicate by any methods and times that works for you.
