Homelessness and the Right to Adequate Housing Research Project
The Quebec Homelessness Prevention Policy Collaborative is a joint partnership between McGill University's Department of Equity, Ethics, and Public Policy and the Old Brewery Mission. Established in 2021, the CQPI brings together members from academic institutions, community groups, and the public sector to formulate and promote policy recommendations aimed at reducing homelessness in Quebec. The Q-HPPC's work is structured around working groups tasked with addressing the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness. To date, the CQPI has developed 6 working groups focusing on the following themes: Gender and Intimate Partner Violence, Judicial and Correctional Processes, Youth, Immigration, Mental Health, and Eviction Prevention.
