Rebecca Lynn Lyons is the Founder and CEO of Exera, a pioneering HR tech platform focused on transforming employee experience through data-driven insights. With over a decade of experience in sales operations management, process optimization, and team leadership across global industries, Rebecca brings a wealth of expertise to the world of HR analytics. Known for her commitment to inclusive, high-performing workplaces, she designed Exera to help organizations improve employee retention, pay equity and performance management in a seamless, intuitive way.
Rebecca is currently completing her Executive MBA from Valar Institute and has certifications in Growth Marketing from Growclass and Management Consulting from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Her background in industrial/organizational psychology and Human Resources management from the University of Waterloo has informed her empathetic, people-centric approach to business, while her experience as a management and digital transformation consultant has equipped her with a robust strategic and operational toolkit.
A participant in The Forum's e-Series, Rebecca is passionate about supporting diversity in entrepreneurship and reducing barriers for women and underrepresented communities. As a writer and woman-owned business leader based in Ontario, she is dedicated to building Exera into an innovative, values-driven company that helps organizations foster equitable, engaged and future-ready workforces.

Podcast Production
Since podcasts are becoming an increasingly popular content medium, our company hopes to capitalize on this by creating our own. In this project, students will collaborate with us to take advantage of trending media and create a season of our own podcast. We would like students to deliver a 5-episode podcast series based on our company’s nice to resonate with our target audience. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Collaborating with the project manager to form a name and a theme for the podcast, and a topic for each episode. Script various components of each podcast episode such as the introduction, welcome, call to action, and outro. Create cover art for the podcast. Research and plan what will be discussed on an episode-by-episode basis. Record and edit each episode. Facilitating special guest appearances in one or more episodes.

HR Intelligence Thought Leadership Video
Exera Solutions aims to establish itself as a thought leader in the realm of HR intelligence and data-driven decision-making. The project involves creating a 3–5 minute thought leadership video that educates HR leaders on the significance of centralized HR data and how it can transform talent strategies. The video should position Exera as an expert in HR intelligence and workforce analytics, engaging industry professionals through high-quality storytelling, visuals, and expert insights. Participants will research key trends in HR intelligence, develop a compelling script, and produce a professional-quality video. The project is designed for learners to apply their classroom knowledge in media production, storytelling, and HR analytics, culminating in a polished video that encourages potential clients to explore Exera’s solutions.

Market Entry Consulting - AI-Driven HR Tech in UK and Europe
This experience focuses on equipping learners with the skills to evaluate market opportunities and develop strategic plans for new ventures. Participants will learn to apply analytical frameworks and strategic thinking to real-world business challenges, particularly in the context of helping an AI-driven HR platform enter the UK/EU market. Learners will gain hands-on experience in creating value propositions, identifying market obstacles, and crafting actionable recommendations, all while honing their communication and problem-solving skills.

AI-Driven HR Platform Enhancement
Exera Solutions Inc. is developing an AI-driven HR platform aimed at revolutionizing employee lifecycle management while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within organizations. The project focuses on enhancing the platform's project management capabilities to streamline HR processes, from recruitment to retirement. The goal is to create a user-friendly interface that leverages AI to provide actionable insights and recommendations for HR professionals. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of AI, project management, and HR processes to develop features that support DEI initiatives. The team will work on tasks such as optimizing AI algorithms for bias detection, improving user experience, and integrating DEI metrics into the platform's analytics.
